DeQi Medical was founded by TCM Practitioners to create the gold-standard in acupuncture supplies and service.  

Our mission is to elevate the standards of TCM products in the current market place and provide premium medical quality supplies and equipment to the practitioner, ranging from the latest innovations in diagnostic tools and medical equipment for treatments, to traditional, time-honoured hero products.

Our premium quality products are carefully selected by experienced  TCM practitioners and sourced directly by DeQi  from the finest production facilities in China.  Our team personally visit and assess the production facilities, ensuring quality, authenticity, and traceability.

Located in Ireland DeQi can offer delivery of most products in 3 to 5 days.

Meet the Founders


  • Chi Harmony Clinic | licensed Acupuncturist | Chinese Herbalist
    Director DeQi Medical – Dublin, Ireland

    Ying is a highly skilled and multidisciplinary healthcare professional with a rich and diverse background in both Eastern and Western medical practices. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist, a Registered General Nurse, and a Certified Sound Therapist, offering a holistic and integrative approach to health and wellness.

    Her medical journey began in China, where she obtained a General Nursing Diploma and worked in a public hospital, focusing on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)—her lifelong passion. To further her expertise, she pursued a five-year program in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Acupuncture Foundation College in Ireland, becoming a fully qualified and registered practitioner.

    What sets Ying apart is her unwavering commitment to excellence and lifelong learning. She regularly returns to China for advanced training and professional development, drawing on what she sees as the highest global standard of TCM—where tradition meets cutting-edge innovation, research, and medical technology. These visits not only keep her at the forefront of new techniques and treatments, but also allow her to personally source DeQi medical equipment, ensuring it meets the strictest standards for safety, efficacy, and authenticity.

    Ying has had the rare privilege of studying under some of the most esteemed figures in TCM:

    • Dr. Shi Xuemin (1938-2025) a national icon in China renowned for his innovations in stroke rehabilitation. Ying apprenticed directly under Dr. Shi, gaining specialized knowledge in stroke care.

    • Dr. He Puren (1926–2015), the celebrated founder of the "He Puren Inheritance Studio" and a National TCM Great Master. Ying trained in the Santong Method and Fire Needling Therapy, earning certification as a specialist in this powerful modality.

    • She is also a Certified Specialist in Cosmetic Acupuncture, applying her clinical precision to natural, non-invasive beauty treatments.

    Since moving to Ireland in 2002, Ying has built a strong foundation in healthcare, working in a range of settings including hospitals and private nursing homes. In addition to her medical qualifications, Ying holds an Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance from ICD Business School and a Diploma in People Management, equipping her with strong operational and leadership skills.

    Carmel Hunter brings a unique dual strength to DeQi Medical—a seasoned practitioner she runs a busy Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture clinic, and is a strategic force in business development and brand growth. With over 25 years in the skin and wellness industry, Carmel contributes more than just clinical knowledge. She draws on 10 years of experience in marketing and advertising, coupled with a Diploma in Public Relations, to elevate DeQi Medical’s visibility, client engagement, and educational outreach. Her insight into consumer wellness trends, coupled with her deep understanding of integrative health, positions the company at the intersection of professional excellence and modern healthcare delivery.

    Her journey into TCM began in her 20s after a transformative personal experience with acupuncture in Australia. That spark led her to dedicate her career to a holistic, client-centered approach to healthcare—an ethos that now guides in her clinic and her leadership at DeQi Medical.

    Carmel completed a three Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture, followed by 1 year clinical training to earn her Licentiate in Acupuncture. Her practice is informed by a commitment to lifelong learning, with advanced postgraduate training in:
